The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC) released a report in 2015 outlining 94 ‘Calls to Action’ to support reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples and to respect Indigenous rights. Call to Action #92 reads: “We call upon the corporate sector in Canada to adopt the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as a reconciliation framework and to apply its principles, norms, and standards to corporate policy and core operational activities involving Indigenous peoples and their lands and resources.”
In this session, we’ll explore what it looks like for organizations large and small to advance Call to Action #92, and provide some tangible takeaways for your own business to consider in support of meaningful reconciliation.
