New Member Announcement: Hamilton Conservation Authority

We’re excited to announce that the Hamilton Conservation Authority is a new member of Green Economy Canada! The Hamilton Conservation Authority is dedicated to conserving the city’s local watershed and promoting the enjoyment of its lands and water resources.

“The reality is that climate change is already affecting the Hamilton Conservation Authority (HCA) watershed. In response, the HCA has developed a Climate Strategy to guide our efforts in adapting and mitigating its impacts,” says Scott Peck, Deputy Chief Administrative Officer & Director of Watershed Management Services at HCA. “Addressing climate change is a top priority for us, and our partnership with Green Economy Canada will support and strengthen this critical work.”

Matthew Lynch, Executive Director of Green Economy Canada, adds: “We are excited to welcome the Hamilton Conservation Authority to Green Economy Canada. As a recognized leader in their watershed community, HCA is taking the initial step in a journey to contribute to the net-zero transition. We’re encouraged by their plans to set emissions reduction goals and we look forward to seeing them achieve those targets and continue to advance sustainable practices across their conservation areas, offices and fleet.”

Hamilton Conservation Authority is part of an ever-expanding network of businesses propelling Canada toward a dynamic and inclusive net-zero future. By joining us as Green Economy Leaders, this innovative organization will gain support in tracking its GHG emissions, establishing reduction targets, mapping out strategies, and publicly reporting progress towards their goals.
