Connect 2019

Celebrating individuals and organizations building the green economy

Join us at our annual reception, Connect 2019, to celebrate the Green Economy Leaders and Green Economy Hubs accelerating Canada’s shift to a low-carbon economy.

We’ll be giving out the inaugural Green Economy Builder Award, which will recognize a Green Economy Leader that has not only demonstrated leadership through its organizational sustainability initiatives, but has also increased sustainability interest and action among its employees and in the wider community.

Special Feature

What’s Missing?
A Conversation With Dr. Dianne Saxe and Priyanka Lloyd

Over the past year, there has been significant discussion on the climate crisis we’re facing in light of the 2018 IPCC Global Warming of 1.5 ºC special report.

While a lot of the conversation has focused on policy changes, technological solutions, greater investments, and shifts big businesses need to make, we’re not going to overcome this challenge without engaging and building the capacity of SMEs to take part in the low-carbon transition.

Join Dr. Dianne Saxe, former Environmental Commissioner of Ontario, and Priyanka Lloyd, our Executive Director, for a candid conversation on the importance of engaging SMEs and creating an inclusive movement to meet the scale and urgency of the low-carbon transition we need to make.

You’ll also hear insightful video contributions from:
Nicole Vadori, Associate Vice President and Head of Environment, TD
Sarah Burch, Professor, University of Waterloo
Brad Steeves, Director of Marketing, Merchandising & Procurement, Beatties
