Sustainability is part of the core values of the three Plant Matter restaurants. While a plant-based diet is inherently sustainable, the restaurant business can create a lot of waste. Choosing to make a sustainable choice across every touchpoint of service whether it’s sourcing energy from Bullfrog Power, purchasing biodegradable take-out containers, serving organic food (naturally pesticide free), diverting green waste to compost (almost 5,500 kg diverted in 2018), or working with local producers, the Plant Matter restaurants strive to put green values into practice within the restaurants and within the communities they serve with ongoing fundraising events, donations, and partnerships.
