Vice President, Ivey Foundation
Andrea Moffat is the Vice President of the Ivey Foundation whose mission is to help create a shared vision for Canada’s future that integrates the economy and the environment, achieves resource efficiency, and fosters innovation and investment for a smarter, sustainable economy. Previously, Andrea was the Vice President of the Corporate Program at Ceres, where she led Ceres’ work with business on sustainability issues such as climate, energy, water, and supply chains. With more than 20 years of experience, Andrea’s leadership of the Corporate Program has resulted in engagements with more than 80 companies to help them meet sustainability commitments and achieve greater performance results.
Andrea was the lead author of The 21st Century Corporation: The Ceres Roadmap for Sustainability and the corporate benchmarking reports based on this framework including the 2014 assessment Gaining Ground. She has also contributed to a wide range of other publications. She regularly speaks to business and investor audiences at conferences and events, as well as leading trainings for executive teams.
Andrea’s other professional experience includes managing a corporate responsibility program for Environment Canada, community development work with the African Medical Research Foundation in East Africa, research with the Canadian Environmental Law Association and support for an environmental lecturer at the University of Toronto. She is also a board member of the International Institute of Sustainable Development, and on the advisor council of the Sustainable Accounting Standards Board.
Andrea holds a Master of Environmental Studies from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Arts Honors Sociology/Psychology from Queen’s University, Canada. She also attended the High Potential Leaders executive education course at the Harvard Business School in 2012, and completed the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), Boardroom Financial Essentials course in 2015.
